Hi, Angela Atkins here.

I’ve worked in HR and training for the last 20+ years (I won’t say what the + is!!).

In 2007 I co-founded Elephant Group in New Zealand and since then  we’ve trained thousands of HR, payroll, L&D and OD people through our webinars, workshops and conferences. We’ve also trained thousands of people managers through the Management Bites programme. Elephant Group are now global and we operate in NZ, Australia, the UK, Canada and the US.

Of course, what I actually always wanted to be was a writer. I wrote my first novel when I was 14 years old and many more since then, none of which have been published… yet.

However I have found myself a best selling author anyway!

In 2009 I wrote Management Bites – to provide an easy to read NZ guide to managing a team. I sent it into HarperCollins publishers ready to get a rejection letter. But they said yes! They published it and it sold thousands of copies. Now in it’s second edition, it is still an ongoing seller and makes me extremely pleased that so many people have found the advice and tools I shared in there so useful.

I then wrote Employment Bites – about how to put great HR in place. Then Training Bites – about how to design learning and development for your company and last but not least Safety Bites – about how to build a culture of safety.

I write every day and some of my musing have ended up in this blog. It’s a way for me to share further thoughts that I didn’t get to include in my books! I hope you enjoy and you are welcome to follow this blog so you’ll get an automatic update whenever I post something new.
